One of the GPST Team will be on hand from Wed to Sunday to meet old friends, answer GPS and mapping questions, and give advice on anything in the GPS World. So if you have any burning issues you'd like to discuss please drop in and say hello.

A wholly practical session led by a GPST Team member will cover GPS basics, How to Mark your Position, Create Waypoints. You will leave understanding the advantages of this technology and having had the opportunity to handle a GPS in the field and talk to the experts.

Introducing Memory-Map & Walkingworld – Workshop (Every Day)
This session starts with a short presentation on with this award winning software, we will show you how you can download walks and trails directly from sites like Walkingworld and Geotrailing.com to your GPS. There will be an opportunity to get hands on using one of our Laptops and learn how you could download free one of several specially selected Walkingworld trails to your GPS for use during the festival (cable for your GPS may be required) You could even loan a GPS and go on a Cumberland Ale Geotrail and have a chance to win Beer for a Year

Map & Compass Workshop - (Wed/Fri/Sunday)
Led by Geraldine Fardon a National Navigation Award Instructor these Map and Compass taster sessions are an opportunity to acquire some basic navigation skills – the session will be a wholly practical hands on session during which you will understand how easy it is to learn how these skills can help you be safer when walking the Lakeland hills. No prior knowledge required.

You will find us in the meeting room above the TIC in the Moot Hall which is located in the centre of the town.
The Moot Hall is the home of Lake District National Park Tourist Information Centre and Keswick Tourist Ass - it's the place to visit if you need to find out anything about KMF, Accommodation, or anything about Keswick and the surrounding area.

Our Geotrail can be started anywhere in Keswick, it will take you for a delightful walk along the old disused railway line that follows the course of the River Greta.
You could be surprised to see how much wild life has made its home in this protected environment.

We then make our way to the summit of Lattrig, the panorama from this vantage point is spectacular, lakes, mountains.
The whole of Keswick is laid out before you, take some time out to drink it all in before you make your way back to our final destination the Bank Tavern..
