We’ve had a chance to test this new Memory-Map branded GPS on our courses and on the hill and like what we see.

At this point it’s worth explaining what we mean by Memory-Map Mobile; most software systems like MM allow you hold the software on 2 PC’s (a laptop and a PC for instance) and then offer an application that can be copied to a mobile device or PND (personal navigation device)pocket PC or PDA.

The Adventurer offers a solution to the old issue of buying you maps twice; if you have MM on your PC and MM Mobile on your PND then you can not only copy your overlay files like waypoints & routes but either the whole or a portion on the map itself. It’s a two stage process first you select the map you wish to copy and then you transfer the overlays which will be seen overlaid on the map. 

  

This time MM have stuck out on their own; this time MM have offer the new Adventurer 2800  completely under the MM brand; this time its not a SatNav you can use MM Mobile on, it’s a PND with integrated GPS that runs MM Mobile and SatNav software if you pay extra for it.

Final GPST Comment whilst this GPS will allow you to make full use of your existing maps and copy them to the unit for use in the field; a word on caution as this is a PND don't expect the full GPS functionallity you might expect from a handheld device.
