The Satmap Active 10 Plus offers an attractive package, high quality GPS reception, the option to add full Ordnance Survey mapping at both 50k & 25k scale, and access to their bespoke route planning and route sharing tool. and a world map.

We think the route planning and route sharing tool has added an extra dimension to the previously popular Active 10, and one of the previous limitations of the unit has been solved now that a World map comes pre-loaded in the internal memory of the unit allowing users to at least use the GPS at a basic level on their travels abroad especially now that a wide selection of international maps are now available see list left.

One of the star attractions of the unit is the on-board route planning feature; simply go into planning mode and drop POI's en-route and go. simples! The route planner is shortly to be joined by a new feature that allows you to project single POI's ahead and then GoTo them, this new feature is included in a major new free upgrade of the unit firmware due in late November 09

As soon as the firmware is released we will be adding several Satmap lessons to our OnLine Resource; the lessons will give info on how to use the buttons & keys, how to upgrade the firmware, how to access SatSYNC and how to copyroutes & POI's to and from the unit to your favorite software. There will be a lesson with practical exercises with step by step instructions using images captured from the GPS.
