Lowrance have been in the business of manufacturing GPS and mapping solutions since the concept of the GPS System; it would be fair to say that to date the main focus of the efforts to date in the UK & Europe have been in the marine market where their products have a deserved reputation as the best available in the field.
The Endura range is made up of three units the Out&Back, Safari and Sierra; the range of handheld GPS is already established in the USA and is now coming to the UK and Europe; all the units offer

- Photo Viewer & Video Player are compatible with standard file formats

Its no secret that Lowrance ran into a few issues around the launch of the Endura Range of handheld GPS devices and the associated OS maps last year. After nearly a year of research & development in partnership with leading digital mapping software developer Mapyx (Quo) the Endura Range is ready for re-launch.
Essentially Quo have written a dedicted software solution for the Endura Range allowing users to run a special mobile version of Quo on the Endura device, the software and any maps included in the purchase come pre-loaded to a MicroSD card that comes with the package.
All Endura/Quo Bundles come with a basic package which includes Quo Desktop Software, 8GB MicroSD card preloaded with Quo Mobile software, OS 1:250 GB Road Map, OS Panorama (DTM -Contours), OS 1:50k Gazetteer, Mapyx Endura Quick Start Guide. No Maps are included in these packages but we're sure that there will be special Quo mapping offers from time to time.

These basic packages leave the user with the option of copying any licensed Quo maps they already own to the device or purchasing additional mapping by download from the Quo Tile Shop and thence to the device.
