item features

See the Way

eTrex Touch 35 features a sunlight-readable, 2.6-inch color touchscreen display offering intuitive access to worldwide basemap with shaded relief. Durable and waterproof, eTrex Touch 35 is built to keep delivering vital mapping and tracking data no matter what the elements throw at you, standing strong against dust, dirt, humidity and water.

New Tools for Your Trek

eTrex Touch 35 features a built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass that shows your heading even when you’re standing still, and you don’t have to hold it level. Also added is a barometric altimeter, which tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude, and you can even use it to plot barometric pressure over time, which can help you keep an eye on changing weather conditions.

Go Anywhere

With an array of compatible mounts, eTrex Touch 35 is designed for use on ATVs, bicycles, boats, as a handheld or in your car. Use the auto mount capability and City Navigator® NT maps for turn-by-turn driving directions, or the rugged mount for your motorcycle or ATV. Wherever you think you might take eTrex, it has the mapping and mounts to get you there.

Go Global

eTrex Touch 35 can track both GPS and GLONASS satellites simultaneously. Developed by the Russian Federation, GLONASS satellites “lock on” to a position (on average) approximately 20 percent faster than GPS receivers. Using both GPS and GLONASS means the receiver has the ability to lock on to 24 more satellites than using GPS alone.

Add Maps

With its microSD™ card slot and 4 GB of internal memory, eTrex Touch 35 lets you load TOPO maps and hit the trail, plug in BlueChart® g2 preloaded cards for a great day on the water or City Navigator NT map data for turn-by-turn routing on roads. eTrex Touch 35 also supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (subscription required) that lets you download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps.

Stay Connected

eTrex Touch 35 lets you share your waypoints, tracks, routes and geocaches wirelessly through unit-to-unit sharing to compatible Garmin devices. The smart notification feature means you’ll never miss a text, email or notification from your compatible smartphone, unless you want to. You can even use your eTrex Touch 35 as a remote control for our VIRB® XE, VIRB X and VIRB Elite action cameras.

Keep Your Fix

With its high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver and HotFix® satellite prediction, eTrex Touch 35 locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and deep canyons.

eTrex Touch 35 is preloaded with 250,000 geocaches from Geocaching.com. By going paperless, you're not only helping the environment, but also improving efficiency. eTrex Touch 35 stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions, which means no more manually entering coordinates and paper printouts. Simply upload the GPX file to your unit and start hunting for geocaches.

Plan Your Next Trip

Take charge of your next adventure with BaseCamp™, software that lets you view and organize maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. This free trip-planning software even allows you to create Garmin Adventures that you can share with friends, family or fellow explorers. Very impressed with the level of service I have received so far from GPS Training. The website and videos from GPS training were very helpful and informative when trying to decide which GPS unit to choose from.Eventually I decided to go with the eTrex Touch 35.My new eTrex Touch 35 arrived the next working day after I ordered it. The unit came with the Micro SD card with GB OS 1:50 mapping installed on it by GPS training which saved me the job of installing it.GPS training also included three very helpful and useful getting started worksheets (on getting started; recommended settings; and a starter guide for basecamp software). These were easy to use and follow and far more useful than the brief instructions that came with the device and the online owners manual: which you have to download and print out.As regards the eTrex Touch 35; the unit is great (particularly compared to my original Garmin eTrex which is now almost prehistoric). The eTrex Touch 35 unit is quick to start up and locate the GPS tracking satellites; the touch screen is responsive and easy to use (far better than the buttons on my old GPS). The colour display is clear and the 1:50 OS maps also display clearly on the screen.I thoroughly recommend purchasing a GPS unit form GPS Training/Shepherds Walks.

I did a lot of shopping around before deciding on a unit. Several phone calls were made to GPS Training on the units they had and the advice and information they gave me was by far the best. I went for an eTrex Touch 35 which for me is a great unit for hillwalking and cycling.I was looking for a unit that had OS mapping on it and this one came with GB OS 1:50 maps preloaded. The unit is comfortable to hold and feels robust. The screen has been easy to read in the weather that Scotland can throw at it in one day. The unit was delivered very promptly and I was also given advice on batteries and other accessories to consider for use with the unit. The unit is very competitively priced and the user guides made up by GPS Training that were included with the unit were of great value to me being someone that has had no previous experience with a GPS unit. The support offered by GPS Training in the package that comes with the unit is invaluable. Without all this information and free webinars I feel I would have given up on the unit by now! I have signed up to my first webinar in June and I look forward to finding out about all the things that my unit can do that I have yet to get to grips with.

Excellent machine and excellent service and support from GPS Training. This machine is so easy to read in daylight and sunlight. Some people say these are unnecessary as you can use a mobile phone, wrong. These machines work in all weathers, are accurate, easy to use.A friend recently got lost on the south downs using a phone to navigate. Won't happen with this.Recommended for any dog walkers, walkers, mountain bikers.

Very good little GPS unit. Pretty straightforward to use, clear screen. Nice pocket sized, (which does mean the screen is smaller than on my old SatMap 10, but I find the Touch 35 much more intuitive and so much more useful. Service support from GPS training so far has been outstanding.

GPS Training were very helpful in guiding my original choice of the eTrex Touch 35 as best suiting my needs - it was more flexible and cheaper than the unit I had in mind - always a good sign! The unit arrived next day, fully set up, with lots of paper instructions and a Dales Way track generously thrown in.With the paper instructions and the on-line videos, I soon felt competent. When, after a few walks, queries arose, the on-line videos sorted me out. I have not taken up the free webinar - but good to know it's there. I made one phone call to GPS Training and their advice was very helpful.I am amazed at the amount of info the unit can record as you walk and at its ability to keep you on course even at tricky junctions with several paths to choose from.In summary, delighted with the unit and both the initial and after sales support from GPS Training - and looking forward to the Dales Way very soon.

Only used it a couple of times and am still getting to grips with it. I am excited about the prospect of using a device with good battery life.

I wanted to buy a unit for my husband's birthday and to use it on a planned walking holiday in the Costa Brava. Andy advised which unit to buy, what map to use for Spain and even added some pre-settings. The unit arrived ready to go. The paper instructions showed how to get started and the on line instructions and videos were spot on. We signed up for two webinars which really helped . After a couple of test runs in Wales we were good to go in Spain and were able to pre- load routes and way marks through Basecamp. With this level of training it all becomes intuitive after a few goes. The unit worked brilliantly in Spain. We would literally have been lost without it and it gave us confidence that we were on the right path and would be home in time for a well deserved glass of rose! Since we have been back we have been revisiting our guidebooks and uploaded loads more walks on the Garmin. Great fun! Thanks for all your help and support. Happy walkers!

I would strongly recommend both this product and the excellent customer service. I contacted Andy prior to purchasing and he advised which unit would be best for me as an ultra runner out on the hills. The unit arrived pre loaded and ready to go much to my relief bit of a technophobe and I have managed to download GPX files, map my own routes and use the device with no problems out on the hills. The on line videos are clear and easy to follow and have been a big help as has Andy who I have e mailed two times since receiving the unit and he has replied quickly and professionally and been a big help.Great product - great customer service - many thanks.

Really pleased with this product and the support given, both before and after purchase. I have used the online instructions and videos which I found quite easy to follow and user friendly for someone who is not brilliant with technology. I intend to sign up for the webinars. I have so far used it to plan walks and also to save routes walked. I love that I am now never lost and can find a way round problems on the ground. I agree with other reviews that the customer service is first class.

I was looking for a gps unit to replace my old Etrex, after doing some home work I decided to contact Gps Training and am glad I did. Excellent advice and instructions. I could have bought my unit slightly cheaper from elsewhere without the full mapping but it was not worth it. I am glad I didn't do that as there was no help provided it was just a unit in a box as Gps Training say. I have had to contact them for advice on a couple of occasions and the response has been quick and helpful and I am sure that I wouldn't have been able to work out features without their help. I haven't been able to book webinars yet but have every confidence in them based on everything else.

1. What is the Garmin TOPO ACTIVE mapping?

• The map is less detailed than OS maps but provides relevant useful information for activities like hiking and cycling, it's routable giving you turn by turn routing (on and off road) and shows elevation changes. Read our review on TopoActive mapping and look at how it looks in an article here.

Garmin TopoActive Western / Eastern Europe covers the following 46 countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia / Kaliningrad, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City.

2. What is turn by turn routing?

•  This will act like a car satnav that will tell you to turn left/right etc along paths etc. A great addition

3. What is the best way to get 1:25k mapping?

•    Purchase a Birdseye voucher

•    Purchase a national park region mapping card from GPS Training

•   Purchase a full GB 1:25k map card from GPS Training.

•   Purchase this unit pre bundled with the 1:25k, 1:50k and 1:250k mapping card.

4. What batteries does the unit use?

•    Normal AA Batteries but we reccomend you purchase some good quality rechargable batteries. You can read a factsheet here.

5. How do I access my free training that I get when I buy a GPS from GPS Training?

•   You will receive everything you need to access this in with your GPS.

•   You will receive a username and password so you can access the GPS online resource (online training course) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

6. What are the Webinars that I get free with my GPS Purchase?

•   Webinars are live training courses you access via your computer, led by one of our trainers. They look at a subject (either basic GPS usage or Basecamp - you have access to two webinars) and all
