Play Scotland Geocaching

Wed 11th March 2015

Over the past few years GPS Training have spent many hours in classrooms, on playing fields and in the countryside introducing young people to Geo-caching.

As you may know geo-caching is a treasure hunt with GPS units. More recently we have worked with many groups to deliver Ďgeo-trailsí which are treasure hunts that incorporate multiple cache sites.

Last Saturday it was a great honour to deliver three workshops at the annual Play Scotland event in Falkirk.

Throughout I had three groups of 20 participants. During each of the sessions I went over the principles of geocaching and some of the activities we have found to work and not work in the educational setting. Then we went outside and did some actual geocaching. Every single participant had a great day.

The feedback was second to none. Itís so great to see Scotland leading the way in introducing young people to the countryside (and the exercise this entails) through Geo-caching,
