item features

See the Way

eTrex Touch 25 features a sunlight readable, 2.6-inch color touchscreen display offering intuitive access to worldwide basemap with shaded relief. Durable and waterproof, eTrex Touch 25 is built to keep delivering vital mapping and tracking data no matter what the elements throw at you, standing strong against dust, dirt, humidity and water.

New Tools for Your Trek

eTrex Touch 25 features a built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass that shows your heading even when you’re standing still, and you don’t have to hold it level to get an easy-to-understand display of your heading.

Go Anywhere

With an array of compatible mounts, eTrex Touch 25 is designed for use on ATVs, bicycles, boats, as a handheld or in your car. Wherever you think you might take eTrex, it has the mapping and mounts to get you there.

Go Global

eTrex Touch 25 can track both GPS and GLONASS satellites simultaneously. Developed by the Russian Federation, GLONASS satellites “lock on” to a position (on average) faster than GPS receivers. Using both GPS and GLONASS means the receiver has the ability to lock on to 24 more satellites than using GPS alone.

Add Maps

With its microSD™ card slot and a full 4 GB of internal memory, eTrex Touch 25 lets you load TOPO maps and hit the trail, plug in BlueChart® g2 preloaded cards for a great day on the water or City Navigator® NT map data for turn-by-turn routing on roads. eTrex Touch 25 also supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (subscription required) that lets you download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps.

Find Fun

eTrex Touch 25 is preloaded with 250,000 geocaches from Geocaching.com. By going paperless, you're not only helping the environment but also improving efficiency. eTrex Touch 25 stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions, which means no more manually entering coordinates and paper printouts. Simply upload the GPX file to your unit and start hunting for geocaches.

Plan Your Next Trip

Take charge of your next adventure with BaseCamp™, software that lets you view and organize maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. This free trip-planning software even allows you to create Garmin Adventures that you can share with friends, family or fellow explorers. BaseCamp displays topographic map data in 2-D or 3-D on your computer screen, including contour lines and elevation profiles. It also can transfer an unlimited amount of satellite images to your device when paired with a BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription.

I recently bought a eTrex Touch 25 - my third unit in the eTrex range - I guess that tells you that I have been satisfied with previous models. This one is no exception although it has been a steep 'learning curve' to get the most from it. It has got so many new features and is a vast improvement but I'm still learning with great back-up from the office.Go for it - Christmas only comes once a year!

Recently got one of these for my birthday after getting fairly spectacularly lost in the Grampian mountains using a paper map. Taken it out on 2 walks so far and has been great, a lot easier and quicker to use than a paper map when there are not many features around to orientate yourself from. Battery life is OK but not amazing, I wouldn't go on any serious walks without at least one spare set. The touch screen took a little getting use to particularly in the wet, might think about getting a small stilus or something to go with it to avoid taking off gloves.I havn't used any of the training packages it came with so far but is on my list to do.All in all great little bit of kit which could save you some very long walks back to the car after getting lost!

I purchased my Etrex Touch 25 from GPS Training a couple of months ago to use in an ultra event in the Lake Distict at the end of July. Although the race rules make it mandatory to carry a marked map and compass I decided to augment this with a GPS device and was torn between the eTrex 30X and the eTrex Touch 25. I rang GPS Training on a Saturday and John gave me excellent guidance and I settled on the Touch 25. I have not regretted the choice.I took delivery of the Touch 25 on the Tuesday. It was a simple matter to download Garmin's software - BaseCamp. Using this, it was easy to select and download the detailed map of the area of the race, using Garmin BirdsEye, and install it on the Touch 25. I was able to upload the GPX track of the race and also imput it on the Touch 25 using BaseCamp.Although my participation in the event was cut short due to an injury, the Touch 25 performed flawlessly. Battery life was reasonable, but that said, always carry spare sets of batteries. John advised using rechargeables and this was sound advice as proven when I tried alkalines when training.GPS Training include lots of documentation with the device and although I haven't yet had time to use the online training, these guides made using BaseCamp and BirdsEye simple. An excellent device, not only would I recommend the eTrex Touch 25 but also GPS Training for brilliant customer service.
